One of our parents who had returned from East Timor spoke of his experiences and expressed concern about the lack of the most basic facilities and equipment, especially for the children who want to go to school. After learning about this we decided to assist 3 schools in the district of Liquica, East Timor, by donating essential schooling equipment, clothing, children’s toys, sporting goods, books, old televisions with VCRs attached and VHS tapes suitable for children. Parents of Doreen students were asked to donate items , and companies were approached to provide donations of goods and funds. A Truck arrived on 22nd October and was loaded with all of the items and they were sent to Liquica and distributed to the schools.
